PLASMA fibroblast
High Impact, Non-surgical Skin Rejuvenation and Resurfacing
Trust the process and experience firmer, smoother, skin with less pigmentation, and new collagen production that continues for up to a year.
Plasma Fibroblast—also known as Plasma Lift, Dot Plasma, or Plasma Pen—is an advanced skin rejuvenation treatment that delivers non-surgical skin rejuvenation and resurfacing using a precise, pen-like device. A small electrical arc (plasma) is emitted just above the skin’s surface, creating micro-injuries in the epidermis while stimulating fibroblast cells, which are responsible for collagen, elastin, and skin repair.
This dual-action process triggers deep tissue regeneration and surface-level resurfacing, resulting in tighter, firmer, and more youthful-looking skin. As the skin heals, tiny carbon dots (crusts) form, eventually flaking off to reveal a smoother, renewed layer beneath.

Alicia was one of the first providers in the Santa Cruz area to specialize in Plasma Fibroblast, pioneering the service locally and earning a reputation for precision and artistry. At Volta, this is considered our most advanced skin remodeling treatment—offered only after a detailed medical intake and patch test to ensure your safety and suitability.
We work intentionally and conservatively to protect your skin and deliver natural, elegant results—especially in delicate areas like the eyes, lips, neck, and jawline. This is a treatment for clients who are ready for significant transformation and comfortable with 7–10 days of visible downtime.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
We use a strong topical numbing cream to make the treatment tolerable. Most clients report a mild stinging or heat sensation during the session a sunburn sensation may be present for 12-24 hours after. Most of the discomfort comes from swelling in the day immediately following the treatment.
-
Expect 7–10 days of visible healing, including carbon crusts (small dots), redness, and some peeling. You’ll need to avoid sun, heat, and certain products during this time. Full collagen regeneration and lifting continues over the following 8–12 weeks.
-
Most clients see excellent results in just 1–2 sessions, depending on the area and severity of concern. Results last 2-5 years, and collagen can continue to build for up to 12 months.
-
This treatment is best for fair to medium skin tones. Clients with deeper skin tones may be at risk for post-inflammatory pigmentation and should be assessed carefully during consultation.
-
The results you get are permanent, however, your skin will still continue to age over time, so we say 2-5 years. Additional treatments may be desired to see the full rejuvenation of certain areas, and the number of treatments will depend on the depth of wrinkles, texture, and age of the skin, as well as aftercare and lifestyle factors. Age, Smoking and excess carbohydrate consumption (skin glycation) can lengthen healing time. Multiple treatments to the same area should be scheduled a minimum of 8 weeks apart.
-
This procedure is very safe, however, making sure you are a good candidate (see contraindications), practicing excellent aftercare and religious use of SPF is important. After the treatment there will be some inflammation, redness and swelling for 1-3 days, swelling and redness may range from mild to extreme, especially in the eye area. After 2-3 days small carbon crusts or scabs will form. After 5-8 days the scabs will begin to fall off. There may be peeling and dryness. For older clients, smokers and those with healing disorders the dots may take longer to shed. After shedding, you may experience mild hypopigmentation (light spots) or mild hyperpigmentation (dark spots), which usually clear up in 2-8 weeks.
Occasionally, pink atrophic spots (where the dots were applied) can last up to 6-12 months after treatment, although this is incredibly rare. Some areas such as the body and neck take much longer to fully heal than the face. Vitamin C can be used topically as well as melanin inhibitors like hydroquinone before and after the treatment, and they will eventually resolve. SPF and sun protection is of the utmost importance in the months after Plasma Lift.
There is always the small possibility of infection immediately after treatment, so cleanliness is extremely important.
Please be aware of the signs of serious infection like excessive pain, abnormal swelling, red streaks going from the procedure site towards the heart, elevated body temperature, or purulent drainage from the procedure site.
Let me know if anything seems off, I will also be checking in and asking for photos as you heal.
