Volta began as a boutique plasma studio and evolved when lifelong friends Alicia and Hannah, who never imagined they’d go into business together, realized they could create something truly special by combining their unique strengths. With deep clinical expertise and a shared passion for healing and transformation, they’ve built a space where clients are seen and supported.

Alicia

I’ve been a pioneer of plasma-based skin rejuvenation in my home community of Santa Cruz and the greater SF Bay Area for the past six years. A proud UCSC alum, my professional path began in government work as an Agricultural Biologist for 12 years before I followed my entrepreneurial instincts into the world of tech, startups, marketing, and branding. Then, In 2020, I took an unexpected but aligned pivot into aesthetics, driven by a deep passion for preventative and holistic health. My work with Plasma electricity-based modalities centers on harnessing the body’s innate natural healing and regenerative capabilities to restore and enhance the skin. I hold certifications and advanced training in both Plasma Fibroblast and Jet Plasma and now have the honor of training and mentoring other practitioners in these modalities.

Lately, I have been passionate about peptide therapies and GLP’s, having immensely benefited from these compounds myself. I have been receiving additional education and working towards new certifications to assist others on their health and wellness journey. I’m thrilled to be able to collaborate with amazing health care providers Nurse Hannah and Dr. Rongey to expand Volta into her next evolution as Volta Vitality! 

When I’m not in the studio, I might be thrifting, traveling, reading a book with my feet in the sand or chasing an epicurean delight. 

Hannah

I am a Santa Cruz native, registered nurse, and educator with over 20 years of experience in healthcare. My journey began in 2005 as a Medical Assistant, and since then I’ve cared for patients in the ICU and Cardiology while also teaching Medical Terminology, Healthcare Law & Ethics, and Clinical Skills at Cabrillo College.

Blending my medical expertise with aesthetics allows me to do what I love most - help people look refreshed, feel confident, and embrace their natural beauty.

Rooted in the vibrant, health-conscious Santa Cruz community, I value balance, wellness, and connection. Married for over 20 years and raising three active kids (plus our pit bull, Kona), my life is full of energy and love. Outside of the clinic, you’ll find me cheering at sporting events, coaching vaulting, spending time with horses, caring for my plants, spending time with friends, or simply enjoying the sun and outdoors.

At Volta Vitality, my goal is to provide safe, thoughtful, and personalized care, so every client leaves not just looking their best, but feeling aligned inside and out.

Dr. Christine Rongey

Dr. Christine Rongey is a board-certified physician with over 15 years of clinical experience and a passion for helping patients look and feel their best through thoughtful, evidence-based care. A graduate of the University of Southern California School of Medicine, she completed her residency at the University of Pennsylvania, with additional training in dermatopathology.

Inspired by her own personal health journey, Dr. Rongey developed a special interest in aesthetic and regenerative medicine, embracing treatments that support healthy aging while enhancing natural beauty. She believes the best aesthetic outcomes are achieved through personalized treatment plans, patient education, and a conservative approach that delivers safe and natural looking results
